Class Policies

The information contained here will help you to understand the basic requirements for computer classes. It contains class procedures and grading policies.

A syllabus will be given to all students on the first day of class. This contains all assignments for the semester and their due dates.

Projects and exercises are due on their specified days on the schedule sheet (syllabus) unless revised by the instructor. Projects and exercises that are not complete at that time will be considered late. Late projects will result in a point deduction of 15 points. No project will be accepted any later than ten school days after its initial deadline. Final projects will not be accepted late.

You are required to bring your jump drive to class on the first day of class and it will remain in the room for the duration of the course. It is not to be taken from the room without permission. This is to limit the exposure to viruses that may be transported from outside sources. The jump drive will be returned at the end of the semester.

It is expected that students will bring all needed materials to class. Assignments cannot be completed if you do not have a book. Failure to bring the required materials (text, headphones, etc.) will result in a 0 grade for class participation that day.

No games are to be played during class.

Assignments:

  • Projects and exercises are due as assigned by the instructor and/or syllabus. Projects and exercises that are not complete at the due date are considered late.
  • Students need to keep current with assignments. They are expected to work quickly and accurately and not waste time in class. All assignments should be completed in a timely manner.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to check with me to be sure they have no outstanding assignments.

Student Commitment:

It is the student's responsibility to ask questions, take verbal instructions, and receive the proper information so that assignments are completed and presented correctly. Anytime a student is absent from a class, it is the student's responsibility to make up the work.
