This course introduces the production of an interactive web site. Students are instructed in the processes required to produce a web site. Software used is Macromedia Dreamweaver. Upon completion of this course, the student will have the basic skills to design, develop and maintain a web site.

Using a computer, Dreamweaver and Photoshop software, and Web browsers, the student will complete the following according to the procedures and criteria outlined by the instructor, textbook and handouts.

  • Create a Web page resume.
  • Create a simple Web site that demonstrated the use of tables.
  • Define a goal, determine the target market, develop the program methodology, outline and flowchart for a Web site.

Through a series of exercises, create a simple Web site according to assignment specifications that demonstrates how to:

  • create images,
  • buttons,
  • headlines and backgrounds,
  • manipulate digital images using filters and image editing tools,
  • save images in the appropriate format,
  • create and use animated .gifs

Materials:
Students will need a Jump/Flash Drive and a folder for handouts and project descriptions.

Assignments:
Students are given a syllabus with all assignments listed for the semester. Please refer to the syllabus for specific assignment due dates.

Computer Lab:
The lab is open for students to come in and catch up on their work every morning at 6:45 am and during the lunch period.
